Description
For many years, in the area of Kintamani, farmers have been growing coffee on plantations surrounded by fruit and vegetables. The problem is these farmers have historically been encouraged to use chemicals plus fertilizers on their other crops in order to help produce higher yielding harvest. Why is this a problem? Some of these chemicals go into the soils affecting the water which then easily get in touch with the surrounding coffee trees, meaning they are also no longer chemical free.
However, at Bali Beans we are highly interested in sustainability and that’s why we educate farmers to grow organically to produce chemical free fruit and vegetables which have a far superior flavour, are much more appealing to consumers and ultimately don’t affect the surrounding coffee trees. It is only those farmers who are willing to change methods to match our own natural beliefs whom we are prepared to do business with. By purchasing our Kintamani coffee, you’re indirectly (or actually, quite directly) encouraging our farmers to stay or convert to organic methods and we thank you for that!
Every time you enjoy a cup of Bali Beans Coffee, you are helping farmers adopt organic practices on more of their farmland. This transition will not only benefit the environment and farmers but also our general wellbeing.
One person makes a difference to the amount of organic farmland, one cup at a time.
Tasting note: Very clean, fresh, with light body with strong citrus finish
